This contemporary lake home is located on a peninsula on the shores of Smith Lake. The owners directed the design team to provide a design that blends with the natural landscape, prioritizes outdoor living, and offers a peaceful retreat for gathering with friends and family.

After exploring the property and considering factors such as natural drainage patterns and preserving existing hardwood trees, our design creates a layout for this four-bedroom room that harmonizes with the natural environment. By following patterns of the landscape, the design was able to optimize views and use existing trees to create protection for the home.

Most of the home is on a single level, creating a sprawling footprint that accommodates both entertainment and seclusion. It is composed of four volumes: gathering space, outdoor living, and primary and guest suites. Each space is thoughtfully positioned to maximize views of the natural environment.
